How to read this report

HDR End‑User Engagement Detailed Report provides a breakdown of Domestic and Overseas students undertaking various HDR end‑user engagement activities.

This report includes the following filters;

  • Citizenship type
  • Scholarship type
  • Student status
  • Course of study type

Domestic/Overseas students are determined by the value reported in Citizen/resident indicator (E358):

Domestic Student

  • 1 Australian citizen
  • 2 New Zealand citizen
  • 3 Permanent visa other than Permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • 8 Students/Applicants with Permanent humanitarian visa

Overseas Student

  • 4 Temporary entry permit, or
  • 5 Overseas residing outside Australia

Scholarship types are determined by the value reported for Scholarship type code (E487);

No scholarship

  • 00 – Not a scholarship

RTP stipend

  • 08 – A student receiving a Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend

No RTP stipend

  • 09 – A student receiving a Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset, but not receiving a RTP Stipend

Student status types are determined by the value reported for Student Status code (E490);

Fees offset

Student Status code (E490) is:

  • 331 – A domestic or overseas student receiving a Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset, as defined in the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Research)

No fees offset

Student Status code (E490) is:

  • 230 – Deferred all or part of Award or Enabling course tuition fee through FEE‑HELP
  • 270 – Student in a non Commonwealth supported place with an Exemption scholarship
  • 302 – Paid full Award or Enabling course tuition fee
  • 310 – A fee paying overseas student who is not sponsored under a foreign aid program
  • 311 – A fee paying overseas student who is sponsored under a foreign aid program

Course of study type is determined by Course of study type code (E310);

  • 02 – Doctorate by Research
  • 03 – Masters (Research)

  • 03 – Jointly supervised by a research end‑user
Jointly/Fully Funded Higher degree by research end‑user engagement code (E593) equal to:
  • 04 – Jointly funded or fully funded by a research end‑user
Formal Engagement Training Higher degree by research end‑user engagement code (E593) equal to:
  • 05 – Undertaking formal training on end‑user engagement
Other Engagement Activities Higher degree by research end‑user engagement code (E593) equal to:
  • 06 – Undertaking other commercialisation and engagement activities

Notes

  1. The number of students is derived from the count of unique student IDs.
  2. Students who undertake more than one research course with different scholarships and HDR end‑user engagement activities may be counted more than once.
  3. Domestic and/or Overseas student records are only displayed where qualifying records are found
