Final reporting of 2017 data is coming up

All 2017 student data must be reported no later than 7 January 2018. This includes:

With the holiday period quickly approaching you are encouraged to start planning to meet this deadline. If your data is ready there is no need to wait, it can be reported earlier.

Course Completions - A Course completion record must be reported for all students that completed a course in 2017.

Unit of Study Completions - A completion status must be reported for all units that have a census date from 1 January to 31 December 2017. All units marked with an "In‑Progress" status must be updated with the actual outcome i.e. "successfully completed", "withdrawn" or "failed" unless the unit was still in progress as at 31 December, 2017, in which case it shall be reported with an "In‑progress" status.

To find out how to report your unit of study completions so they pass validations on your first attempt check out our Opens in a new window: Unit of Study Completions cheat sheet. Also take a look at the webinars on HEIMSHELP for a more detailed guide through of the reporting steps.

Certification - All data reported for 2017 must be certified as complete and accurate in a statutory declaration signed by your CEO and lodged in the HELP IT System (HITS).

Release of the 2018 VET Ministerial & Secretary's notices

The 2018 reporting requirements for the VET FEE‑HELP and VET Student Loans data collections are now available on the HEIMSHELP website. The issuance of these Notices confirms no changes to the reporting requirements for 2018 for the VET FEE‑HELP and VET Student Loans data collection.

There are some minor administrative modifications to reporting documentation, including details of two new files to support the transfer of HELP debts to the Australian Taxation Office.

The details of these updates are included in 2018 VET change control documents on the VET Data Collections page on the department's HEIMSHELP website.
