Course of Study Load for VET providers

Course of Study Load is the aggregated EFTSL value for a VET course. This is calculated by adding the Equivalent Full‑time Student Load (E339) value of all the units of study a student must complete to meet the academic requirements of the course.

The following table provides some examples of reporting the load (ie. total EFTSL) for a VET course on Element 350.

Course length Load reported on Element 350 for the course
a course where the total load for a standard study program for a full time student is equal to half an academic year of full time study [0.5 EFTSL] 05
a course where the total load for a standard study program is equal to one academic year of full time study [l EFTSL] 10
a course where the total load for a standard study program is equal to two academic years of full time study [2 EFTSL] 20

Information on calculating the EFTSL value for a unit of study can be found in section 3.4 of the VET Administrative Information for Providers.
