Coding notes

  • A student that is classified as a commencing student in relation to a particular course of study is a commencing student if she/he has enrolled in the course for the first time at the higher education provider between 1 January and 31 December of the Collection Year.
  • If your institution is unable to report the basis for admission for a student, the value should be coded as "29".
