New HEPCAT Release 25
A new version of HEPCAT will be released to production on Tuesday 5 December 2017.
The key changes in this HEPCAT release include:
- Removal of the requirement to enter the TFN encryption key on submission
- Updates to the TFN Lookup Report to improve its usability
- New validations to support the reporting of industry engagement for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students
All HEIMS systems will be unavailable from 12pm Tuesday 5 December for the application update. The new version will be available for download on Wednesday morning, 6 December.
VET providers – data reporting due 7 December
Please consider this update to HEPCAT when you are planning and preparing your data submissions which are due on Thursday 7 December.
How to install the latest version of HEPCAT
The Reporting with HEPCAT toolkit provides detailed instructions on how to install HEPCAT. Please follow the instructions for updating to the latest version of HEPCAT Application.
Full details of all new HEPCAT and HEIMS functionalities, including a list of new and updated validations, are in the release notes which will be available on the Reporting with HEPCAT toolkit on the day of release.
Back up your database and save it to a secure location!
When a new version of HEPCAT is released please don't forget to back up your database.
The department cannot replace your database if it is lost, deleted or corrupted. We do not have access to your version of HEPCAT or the database on your computer so we are unable to replicate this for you. Part 3 of the HEPCAT User Guide contains details on how to back up your database.
